Job Summary

Meridian Health Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Caregiver Specialist to join our team at our Residential Group Home in Muncie, Indiana. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and nurturing environment for our adult residents, helping them to acquire and maintain daily living skills and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents in acquiring and maintaining daily living skills and social skills in individual and group settings
  • Assess and monitor residents' behaviors and intervene as appropriate
  • Communicate effectively with residents, house staff, and other Center staff
  • Assist residents with menu planning and grocery shopping
  • Assign and monitor residents' tasks on a rotating basis
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
  • Assist residents with obtaining and applying for benefits
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Record keeping and data entry

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months paid behavioral healthcare experience or equivalent college coursework required
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record required
  • Commitment to providing individualized attention and support to residents
