Position OverviewThe **UGE Operator** is responsible for operating machinery to install underground infrastructure for our clients, supporting the Line team, and ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate various jobsite machinery.
- Conduct service, safety inspections, and minor repairs on equipment.
- Verify that the work area is properly staked and located prior to excavation.
- Assist the maintenance crew or labor as required.
- Excavate around live utilities, both underground and overhead.
- Provide mentorship to less experienced operators and laborers.
- Adhere to established safety standards and procedures.
- Load trucks safely and efficiently.
- Enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Perform additional assigned tasks as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Preferred qualifications include:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- CDL Class A driver's license.
This position involves fieldwork and requires physical exertion, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, climb, and work in various weather conditions.
Essential skills include vision, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify colors.
