Position Purpose:

The Postdoctoral Fellow will engage in pioneering research, ensuring timely deliverables, adherence to budget constraints, and compliance with project reporting and publication standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct advanced research in drilling technology, focusing on hydraulics, multi-phase flow dynamics, and geothermal well construction
  • Assist in the development of research proposals, project plans, and detailed reports
  • Oversee the work of undergraduate and graduate students involved in research projects
  • Publish findings and present at relevant academic conferences
  • Provide expert guidance on research methodologies and testing protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering obtained within three years prior to the start date. Proficiency in computational science and multi-physics modeling, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Demonstrated experience in scientific software development and programming in languages such as Python and Matlab. A strong publication record in relevant fields and prior supervisory experience are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in modeling multiphase flow in various media, knowledge of drill string dynamics, and familiarity with drilling technologies. Skills in software development and a history of successful patent applications are advantageous.

Salary:

$65,000 + based on qualifications
