KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises the activities of one or more survey technicians, ensuring deadlines are met by effectively organizing, directing, and optimizing field crew productivity.
  • Conducts a range of office and field activities related to land surveying and civil engineering projects undertaken by the firm, possessing a comprehensive understanding of each project's requirements and scope.
  • Adheres to company protocols and state regulations to guarantee that field data is formatted correctly.
  • Maintains communication with the Registered Land Surveyor and Office Manager regarding the status of each assignment through both verbal and written updates.
  • Operates independently, making technical decisions for assigned projects within defined authority limits.
  • Ensures the maintenance of clear and precise field notes by documenting all significant data, while also overseeing the crew's preparation of sketches, notes, and electronic data collection.
  • Manages boundary survey calculations and client interactions.
  • Guarantees that the crew follows safety protocols and utilizes all provided personal protective equipment.
  • Records time allocated to each project, mileage reports, and field change orders.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
  • Associate's degree in civil engineering or surveying, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the surveying industry.
  • Proficient in operating survey field equipment, including Trimble GPS, Robotic, and Total Station.
  • Skilled in using Trimble Business Center and Trimble Geomatics Office.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks (e.g., extensive walking, lifting 50 to 100 pounds, loading and unloading equipment).
  • Able to extract, comprehend, and maintain data collected in the field.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable.
