Position Overview:
As the primary physician responsible for regulatory compliance, you will oversee medical operations in accordance with Federal and State regulations, ensuring adherence to Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the 'laboratory director' or delegate these responsibilities to qualified personnel as per the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 (CLIA).
- Ensure that all necessary training and proficiency testing for CLIA/COLA standards are conducted effectively.
- Uphold CSL Plasma Services policies and maintain high medical standards, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
Team Leadership:
- Provide medical guidance to Medical Staff Associates, including their training and evaluation for certification.
- Conduct regular reviews of Medical Staff Associates' performance and documentation.
- Facilitate monthly meetings to discuss medical topics and maintain open communication with center management.
Donor Interaction:
- Address inquiries regarding donor suitability and conduct thorough interviews to assess donor eligibility.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all donor and employee records while overseeing medical supplies and emergency equipment.
Incident Management:
- Review and approve medical incident reports, ensuring donors are cleared to resume donations after thorough evaluations.
- Monitor donor health and safety, particularly in immunization programs.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution with an active medical license in the relevant state.
- Minimum of one year of residency training.
