Job Description

We're seeking a dedicated and dependable Wildlife Care Specialist - Animal Husbandry to join our team. As a key member, you'll be responsible for providing mental and physical stimulation to a variety of ungulate species.

  • Provide animals' best welfare with attention to animal behavior, nutrition, and habitat maintenance.
  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of animal habitats and state-of-the-art husbandry facilities.
  • Maintain off-site property landscaping through operation of mowers, string trimmers, pruning tools, and various other devices.
  • Participation in animal management program planning and procedures.
  • Participation in animal health exams alongside the veterinary team.
  • Daily record keeping including ability to learn our electronic record-keeping program (TRACKS).
  • Perform other duties as assigned according to business needs.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A positive, team-minded attitude and desire to give/receive constructive criticism.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) allowing for effective communication with teammates and management.
  • College degree in Biology, Zoology, Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience with animal husbandry and herd dynamics preferred.
  • Skills/experience in mechanical, electrical, and carpentry trades preferred.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, procedural manuals, and written materials pertaining to husbandry and animal management.
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities appropriately and apply creative problem-solving skills when required.
  • Excellent observational skills with the ability to work in a changing environment.
