Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport Clients: Safely transport clients to scheduled appointments, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily vehicle checks, including gas and cleaning, to ensure our fleet is in good working condition.
  • Logistics and Scheduling: Manage passenger counts and demographics, and drive for various city and contracted routes, including day trips scheduled by the Parks and Recreation department.
  • Vehicle Repairs: Transport vehicles to designated locations for repairs, and document necessary maintenance on required forms.
  • Communication and Reporting: Communicate with supervisors via email, complete daily checklists, and document incidents as needed.
  • Qualifications and Requirements: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent, at least 21 years old, and possess a valid Michigan CDL with a Group C Designation and P endorsement. Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a C.P.R. card once employed is also required.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 20 pounds, secure wheelchair tie downs, and manually operate a wheelchair lift.
  • Criminal Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check, including a driving and drug screen.
