Job Summary

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our clinic setting. Under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse, you will perform various clinical duties, including vital sign collection, lab procedures, and assisting with patient examinations and treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide basic patient care duties, such as obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens, including phlebotomy. Assist providers with examination and treatment of patients and with procedures.
  • Administrative Support: Answer phone calls, record messages, and assist providers with patient-related calls. Assist with scheduling tests, results, and pre-certification. Document patient information and assist with medication refills.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and immunizations according to provider orders.
  • Clinic Maintenance: Clean and restock exam rooms, clean equipment, and order stock supplies from the supply department. Maintain sterile technique and utilize universal protocol.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform routine clerical duties, including locating patient charts, filing, and completing routine forms.
  • Professional Development: Attend and complete required meetings and in-service training, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • LVN Certification
  • LVN License in the state of employment or compact
  • BLS Certification
