Position Overview

The Dublin, GA VA Medical Center is actively seeking a full-time Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist to deliver essential health services to an outpatient veteran demographic.

Work Environment

This role encompasses responsibilities at both the Dublin, GA VA Medical Center and the Albany, GA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

Schedule

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary health service delivery to an outpatient or residential rehabilitation treatment program for veterans.
  • Conduct individual and family therapy sessions.
  • Offer tele-mental health services as required.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments addressing physical, psychiatric, emotional, and social needs of veterans with various diagnoses including psychosis, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and organic mental illness.
  • Engage in treatment planning, medication management, and specialized services as necessary.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in differential diagnosis, pharmacological interventions, psychotherapeutic services, and behavioral interventions.
  • Facilitate coordination with other healthcare programs to enhance service delivery.
  • Adhere to operational policies and procedures as established by VA leadership.
  • Participate in administrative meetings and regular staff meetings, complying with peer review procedures.
Compensation

Salary Range: Up to $240,000.00 annually

Recruitment/Relocation Expenses: May be authorized for this position.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth.
  • Meet physical requirements for the position.
  • Possess a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Certification, licensure, or registration credentials relevant to the position.
