Job Overview

The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in optimizing systems, enhancing capabilities, and developing personnel across various operational functions to align with the organization's strategic objectives and achieve targeted outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment and adherence to industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies for audits and certifications.
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and risk management.
  • Ensure the protection of employees, facilities, equipment, and other assets.

2. Facilities and Maintenance
  • Oversee the maintenance of facilities and equipment through proactive maintenance and improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and manage capital investment projects.

3. Production Management
  • Lead teams to ensure production meets customer and internal quality standards while achieving delivery goals.
  • Develop and oversee budgets across multiple departments.
  • Facilitate comprehensive training programs, including cross-training initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of ownership focused on team performance and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Encourage continuous improvement by applying lean manufacturing principles throughout the operational area.

4. Reporting and Accountability
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and reporting performance metrics related to the key operational areas.
  • Report directly to the site General Manager.
  • Lead and develop all Production Technicians, Machinists, Maintenance staff, and Scheduling personnel.
  • Enhance the capabilities of the Operations team through effective management, training, and communication.

Qualifications:
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in operations or manufacturing, preferably in composite structures within the Aerospace and Defense sector.
  • At least 5 years of leadership and management experience.
  • Proficient in Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess data and operational metrics for performance enhancement.
  • Ability to formulate strategic plans for various operations based on projected workloads.
  • Capable of balancing meticulous attention to detail with prompt execution.
  • Adept at managing multiple programs and projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities.
