Substitute Teacher


Reports To: Principal

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  2. Flexibility to adapt to various tasks as assigned
  3. Exhibits effective communication and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Check in at the office upon arrival at the school
  2. Maintain accurate records of student activities and objectives
  3. Engage positively and professionally with students and staff
  4. Uphold confidentiality regarding student and staff information
  5. Manage the classroom to create a safe and supportive environment for all

students and staff in alignment with school and district policies

  1. Provide adequate supervision to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all students
  2. Take necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment,

materials, and facilities

  1. Report any student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and disciplinary issues to the

appropriate authority promptly

  1. Adhere to teacher lesson plans
  2. Remain in the classroom until all students have been dismissed
  3. Stay on duty until the end of the workday
  4. Return instructional materials, equipment, and keys to their designated locations
  5. Assess whether services will be needed for the following school day
  6. Demonstrate non-discriminatory practices in all activities

General Expectations:

  1. Comply with Federal and State Laws, as well as adopted policies and procedures

in accordance with School Board priorities

  1. Act in the best interest of students, upholding the highest standards of public education

and supporting the District's Vision/Mission Statements
