Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sleep Technology Trainee to join our team at Truman Medical Centers. As a Sleep Technology Trainee, you will work under the supervision of board-certified physicians and experienced Registered Sleep Technologists to perform overnight polysomnograms and other complex procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Work and train under medical supervision for a period of up to 1638 hours performing overnight polysomnograms and other complex procedures.
  • Work in a busy Sleep Center while training closely with Registered Sleep Technologists.
  • Assist with patient care and provide excellent customer service.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer knowledge and ability to learn new software applications.
  • Maintain BCLS certification for continued employment.
  • Must be enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP Online Self Study Modules.
Preferred Qualifications
  • RPSGT/RST eligible, CNA, PCT/A, RMA, CMA, NRCMA, or other BRPT accepted allied health credential.
  • One or more years of clinical experience with direct patient care.
  • Experience in sleep data collection, CPAP titration, and scoring, as well as stage recognition.
  • MSLT and MWT experience.
