This role involves applying safe searching methodologies to identify and gather geospatial open-source data while assessing the credibility of such data to provide valuable insights into cultural subjects and entities.


Essential Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Possess an active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance at the time of application and be willing to undergo a CI polygraph examination if requested.
  • A minimum of three (3+) years of relevant experience in GEOINT Collections tradecraft, Open Source Collection, or Open Source Analysis, along with a high school diploma. Note: Additional relevant education may substitute for experience.
  • 1-3 years of direct engagement experience with Intelligence Community (IC) partners/customers.
  • Proficient in web browsing tools and advanced search techniques (e.g., boolean).
  • Basic understanding of safe search practices (OPSEC).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Proficiency in foreign languages (reading, writing, listening).
  • Experience with professional GEOINT tools and resources, including but not limited to: ArcGIS Maps, Maya, ArcGIS CityEngine, ArcGIS Pro, ERDAS, RemoteView, ENVI, SOCET GXP, and ArcMap.
  • Familiarity with DoD/IC databases and services.
  • Knowledge of common open-source databases and services.
  • Experience with social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA.
  • Understanding of DoD and IC missions.
  • Experience in geolocating images (e.g., handheld photography, videos).
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements from supervisors and clients.
  • Preferred candidates should have completed relevant military training or hold a current GEOINT Professional Certification-Foundations (GPC-F).
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred; a master's degree is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and compile publicly available information (PAI) following established customer policies, including current storage policies, OPSEC protocols, and Intelligence Oversight (IO) Governance.
  • Generate and distribute Customer Open Source reports and alerts in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Document activities in the assigned performance management system.
  • Assist in timely responses to intelligence priorities, requests for information (RFIs), and other mission needs, including:
    • Regional/Target monitoring
    • Language support
    • Geolocation tasks
    • Data discovery and transfer
    • Address coding
  • Contribute to the preparation of analytical, observational, and technical reports and publications.
  • Evaluate the credibility of open-source media using various detection tools.
  • Maintain proper file management according to division standards.
  • Request and manage access to security domain systems.
  • Utilize IC Open Source databases and portals.
  • Contribute to knowledge management in Open Source Tradecraft.
  • Support presentations of findings and tradecraft to leadership and partners.
  • Engage actively in Open Source collaboration platforms.
  • Conduct persona maintenance activities in compliance with operational constraints.
  • Assist senior management with outreach and marketing initiatives.

This position is part of a collaborative team and will be conducted on-site in designated locations.
