ROLE SUMMARY

Under the supervision of a Senior Mooring Engineer or Lead Mooring Engineer, the Mooring Engineer Level II provides technical expertise to initiatives involving the deployment of offshore Mooring Systems for Oil & Gas Floating Structures. Adherence to project specifications, engineering standards, and contractual commitments is vital for achieving project goals. The Engineer works collaboratively within a team and may offer guidance to other operational areas.

All team members are expected to promote a positive Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) culture at Subsea 7 and comply with local HSEQ regulations. Upholding ethical standards and integrity, as outlined in the Code of Conduct, is also essential.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Specializes in mooring engineering, tackling design challenges, and executing effective solutions.
  • Oversees engineering tasks for offshore installation, including anchor piles and mooring systems.
  • Generates engineering outputs such as design calculations, specifications, and progress updates.
  • Independently organizes and prioritizes work assignments.
  • Represents the organization in technical discussions with clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards and accuracy in technical documentation.
  • Collaborates with local tendering teams and supports quality-focused engineering efforts.
  • Engages in risk assessment and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Provides technical support during project mobilizations and offshore operations.
  • Identifies appropriate equipment for offshore activities and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Aids in the development of project procedures and communicates with clients and subcontractors.
  • Participates in professional development and Hazard Identification (HAZID) studies.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Must successfully complete UKOOA physical and BOSIET training.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional qualifications in Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Relevant experience in the installation of mooring systems within the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Understanding of marine classification and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to operate within constraints and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Exhibits professionalism and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and engineering guidelines.
  • Experience in package engineering and management.
  • Primarily based in Subsea 7's Houston office for the majority of work activities.
