Electrical Engineer II Job Description

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will play a critical role in supporting the utility scale operations group by acting as a technical leader, ensuring the safe operation of facilities, and collaborating across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical, high-voltage, collection system, and substation support to operating renewable projects.
  • Participate in the engineering, design, and construction review processes, including reviewing collection system, substation, and transmission line designs.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of commissioning, maintenance, and standard operating procedures.
  • Review maintenance records and recommend corrective actions to ensure reliability and compliance with applicable NERC standards.
  • Develop structured feedback sessions for all lessons learned with the project team, including misoperations, root cause analysis, and safety-related events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and utility experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of directly relevant engineering experience working with substations.
  • Working knowledge of high and medium voltage power systems.
