Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Sharp Healthplan. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for assessing and facilitating patient access, providing quality care to our designated patient population, and serving as a technical nursing expert for assigned areas.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and facilitate patient access, utilizing clinical expertise to ensure efficient and effective care.
  • Provide quality care to our designated patient population, working collaboratively with staff and physicians to maintain high levels of efficiency and customer service.
  • Serve as a technical nursing expert for assigned areas, providing guidance and support to nursing staff as needed.
  • Triages patients, collects pertinent information, and routes to physicians as necessary, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Partners with staff and providers to triage urgent messages, utilizing well-developed triage and assessment skills to deliver high-quality care.
  • Accurately documents patient care per protocol, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Participates in clinical projects as directed by physicians or managers, contributing to the development and implementation of quality initiatives.
Requirements
  • 3 years of RN experience in a related clinical area.
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred).
  • Triage experience (preferred).
  • OB/GYN or L&D experience (preferred).
  • Leadership experience (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
