Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers, including preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and documenting patient information.
  • Assist with routine medical procedures, such as drawing blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, medications, and test results.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program and/or be a certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Current BLS Certification required upon hire or within 60 days of hire upon approval.
  • Three (3) months previous experience within a healthcare setting required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an Accredited National Certification Exam for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
  • One (1) year Medical Assistant experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
