Job Title: Surveillance Technician

The Surveillance Technician is a key member of the Kewadin Casinos team, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of surveillance equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair surveillance equipment, including cameras, monitors, and recording devices.
  • Install and configure new surveillance systems, including IP networks and fiber optics.
  • Program and maintain surveillance equipment, including setting up raid storage units and configuring server and workstation settings.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of cameras and systems.
  • Interact with vendors and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Recommend and procure new surveillance equipment as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide backup support to the Surveillance team and work in the Surveillance Office.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement personnel on surveillance camera placement and provide video footage as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Contacts:

The Surveillance Technician will interact with various stakeholders, including immediate peers, peers in other departments, supervisors, managers, executives, Board of Directors, customers, and outside vendors.

Physical Requirements:

The position requires frequent sitting, typing, and use of hearing and vision. Occasional standing, walking, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, driving, and bending may be required. The working conditions include working in a confined area, constant exposure to noise, and occasional exposure to weather and wet/humidity.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of experience working with surveillance systems preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability by the Sault Tribe Insurance Department required.
  • Criminal background investigation under the National Indian Gaming Commission rules.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The Surveillance Technician must have knowledge of basic networking, ability to rebuild surveillance footage storage units, and experience with telecommunication systems and fiber optics. The ability to rebuild computer desktops and servers, work with DOS programming, and use basic hand and power tools is also required. The position requires being on call for after-hour emergencies and working under pressure to handle difficult situations.
