Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Float Pool team at Ochsner Health System. As an LPN, you will provide direct care to patients, including IV therapy, and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients, including IV therapy, within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Direct and assist ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties and interact with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel.
  • Assist other members of the healthcare team in providing the highest quality personalized patient care.
  • Remain knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations, and standards.
Requirements
  • Current licensed practical nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: IV Therapy Credentials.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to be self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment.
  • Good interpersonal and delegation skills.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
