Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Scientist Intern to join our team at Carolina Copacking, LLC. As a Food Scientist Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced team of food scientists to develop and refine formulations for our current and future products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in scaling up recipes and calculating percentages/ratios with ingredients to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Communicate with customers regarding recipe information, pricing, and sampling.
  • Interpret and apply findings to inform product development decisions.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to address concerns about food quality and safety.
  • Learn advanced formulation software to create and maintain formulations.
  • Explore innovative manufacturing methods to reduce costs while meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with independent laboratories for comprehensive testing.
  • Maintain and organize data collection within our file management systems.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an academic program for Food Science and/or Food Engineering.
  • Ability to utilize internal and external sources to drive technical scientific advancements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory work.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of food data science.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to travel overnight and work night and weekend shifts for special projects.
