Athletic Trainer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to provide primary support to our attending PM&R Sports, Spine and Musculoskeletal program physician during outpatient clinic hours. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for patient pre-screening, history taking, and examination techniques, as well as documenting meaningful use data and managing patient activities. Additionally, you will perform administrative duties such as follow-up communications with patients, insurance authorization, and patient scheduling, including the facilitation of referrals generated from all contracted education institutions.

• Provide primary support to the attending PM&R Sports, Spine and Musculoskeletal program physician during outpatient clinic hours
• Perform patient pre-screening, history taking, and examination techniques
• Document meaningful use data and manage patient activities
• Perform administrative duties such as follow-up communications with patients, insurance authorization, and patient scheduling
• Facilitate referrals generated from all contracted education institutions
• Provide therapeutic care to individuals suffering injuries as a result of active lifestyle by utilizing modalities and therapeutic exercise upon referral to relieve pain, prevent disability, develop and improve skills, and restore function
• Work with adolescent, adult, and older adult age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served

• Bachelor's Degree, or entry level Masters' Degree from a NATA-accredited college athletic training program
• Certification by the NATA-BOC (Class A)
• CPR required
• Child abuse background check required

• Meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check
• Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University
