Position Overview:
The MRI Technologist is accountable for the proficient operation of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment, collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts MRI imaging procedures on designated anatomical areas, adhering to established protocols and standards set by the supervising Radiologist.
  • Ensures patient comfort and safety during transport and throughout the imaging process.
  • Under the supervision of the Radiologist, administers contrast agents following site-specific guidelines.
  • Works in cooperation with healthcare personnel, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
  • Delivers imaging results to the facility in the required format.
  • Performs routine quality checks on equipment and addresses any technical issues.
  • Assists in the setup and dismantling of imaging equipment in line with manufacturer instructions.
  • Maintains cleanliness in and around the MRI unit.
  • Completes necessary administrative duties, including time reporting, billing, and quality assurance tasks.
  • Adheres to quality assurance protocols while safeguarding patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborates with healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with facility policies.
  • Follows HIPAA, OSHA, and safety regulations diligently.
  • Accurately maintains medical records and documentation.
  • Provides backup support for MRI Medical Receptionist duties.
  • Ensures all licensures are current and valid.
  • Performs additional tasks as required for the benefit of the department.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program.
  • Certification with the AART and MRI registration is mandatory.
  • Must possess a valid state license.
  • CPR/AED and first aid certification is preferred.
Knowledge Base:
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
  • Familiarity with customer service standards in healthcare.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.
  • Proficient in electronic health record systems.
Skills Required:
  • Strong adaptability and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using scheduling systems and ensuring accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Capable of interacting with patients in a professional and ethical manner.
Abilities:
  • Ability to manage non-cooperative patients and those with complex health issues.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to produce high-quality imaging with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to organize tasks effectively to meet organizational needs.
  • Ability to assist Radiologists in exam interpretation.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Equipment Used: Standard office and imaging technology.

Work Environment: Imaging office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting with some physical activity, including lifting and moving equipment.
