Position Overview
The University of Kentucky is seeking a dedicated
MRI Imaging Specialist to join our esteemed healthcare team. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging services while adhering to the standards established by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Conduct MRI procedures with precision and care, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as the principles of MRI technology.
- Provide exceptional patient care, recognizing and responding to varying patient conditions.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and operational standards.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- A valid Radiation Operator Certificate from the Kentucky Radiation Operators program.
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) by the start date.
Physical Demands
This position requires:
- Regular lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to loud noises and potential hazards.
Work Schedule
The shift schedule for this position may vary, accommodating the needs of the department.
Compensation
The starting pay for this position has been adjusted to reflect the value of the role, with a minimum hourly rate established.
