Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Surgical Technology Instructor to join our team at Pima Medical Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Surgical Technology program, ensuring they receive a high-quality education and are prepared for a successful career in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans that meet the needs of students and align with the program's curriculum.
  • Plan and deliver instruction to achieve specific objectives, including lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training.
  • Monitor student attendance and progress, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Prepare and submit attendance reports and student grades in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate student performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and other educational activities to enhance the learning experience.
  • Assist students with curriculum-related questions and concerns.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Associate degree from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent training and experience.
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
  • Three years of operating room experience in the scrub role or three years of teaching experience in surgical technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
