Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tag and Title Clerk to join our team at AutoNation. As a Tag and Title Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing legal transfer documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles, verifying and making payoffs on vehicle trade-ins, and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit legal transfer documents to the DMV in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Verify and process vehicle trade-ins, including payoffs and inventory control information.
  • Issue stock numbers and stock in used vehicles purchased and prepare checks for used vehicle purchases.
  • Input inventory control information for used cars and prepare and maintain trade-in vehicle jackets.
  • Ensure name and address files are updated on an ongoing basis and process all wholesale deals and monitor wholesale receivable.
  • Verify payoffs on trade-ins and complete end-of-month accounting reports.
  • Assist in completion of annual review/audit and stay up-to-date with applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in a dealership position preferred.
  • Previous tag and title experience required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Must type a minimum of 50 wpm and have strong customer service skills.
