The Industrial Hygienist position at the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is a critical role that requires a strong background in occupational health and safety. As an Industrial Hygienist, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for employees and patients. This includes conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing safety protocols, and providing training and education to staff.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct workplace assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide training and education to staff on safety procedures and protocols
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to occupational health and safety
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in occupational health and safety
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as industrial hygiene, occupational health, or environmental health
- At least 2 years of experience in a related field, such as occupational health and safety or environmental health
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
