Job Overview

The Westfield Area YMCA is in search of compassionate, supportive, and dependable individuals to fill the role of Before Care and/or After Care Counselors for children in grades K-5. This position involves working at various locations within the community, offering flexible shifts from early morning to late afternoon.

Key Responsibilities

Counselors will assist the program Coordinator and Classroom/Group Supervisor in the planning, development, and implementation of daily activities. Specific duties include:

  • Supervising children during outdoor play and safety drills.
  • Preparing the classroom environment for engaging activities.
  • Transporting children safely by bus, adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • Facilitating free play and structured learning activities.
  • Promoting a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants.
  • Encouraging active participation from children.
Compensation

The starting pay for this position is $15.25 per hour, based on education and experience.

Qualifications
