Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager Assistant to join our team at Habitat for Humanity. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the construction of residential housing units, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of subcontractors, labor, and materials for housing projects
  • Monitor job sites to ensure that all necessary materials and subcontractors are present
  • Coordinate with the Construction Manager to complete the purchase of materials and ensure timely delivery
  • Manage all invoices, returns, and credits, and coordinate payments through the Construction Manager
  • Secure all necessary permits and inspections
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure that all expenses are in line with approved budgets
  • Work with families and Family Partners to ensure that construction plans are followed and that all necessary support is provided
  • Establish and maintain a safe and secure job site
  • Communicate effectively with volunteers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all parties are informed and engaged
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager
Requirements
  • Extensive background in all phases of residential construction, including craftsmanship and carpentry skills
  • Organizational skills and experience managing construction projects
  • Adequate communication and leadership skills to instruct unskilled volunteers in construction methods
  • Construction license or in the process of obtaining licensing
