Position Summary
This role involves performing light maintenance and repair tasks under supervision, ensuring safety and professionalism at all times. Special care must be taken in patient/resident areas, including keeping tools out of children's reach.
Basic mechanical knowledge is essential, along with proficiency in using hand tools, meters, measuring devices, and gauges. Familiarity with blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals is advantageous.
Effective communication skills are necessary for accurately explaining conditions and troubleshooting issues. Flexibility to work various shifts as scheduled is required.
Compliance with corporate and facility policies, including dress code, is mandatory. The ability to understand both written and verbal instructions is essential.
Independence in work is expected, with minimal supervision. Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances is required.
Depending on the facility's size, additional responsibilities may include installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring a safe environment, maintaining grounds, and performing general maintenance tasks such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repairs.
On-call duties may be required as directed by the department.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience in various building maintenance tasks is advantageous.
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record may be necessary, along with potential CPR/BLS certification upon hire.
