Radioactive Seed Manufacturing Technician

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Radioactive Seed Manufacturing Technician to join our team at Theragenics Corp. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, efficiency, and safety of our seed manufacturing processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean, assemble, weld, and inspect cold components with precision and accuracy.
- Assemble radioactive components in a fume hood environment, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
- Transfer, weld, and inspect radioactive seeds, maintaining a high level of quality control.
- Wash and decontaminate radioactive seeds, following established procedures.
- Perform 100% inspection of finished seeds using magnifying equipment or microscope, identifying any defects or irregularities.
- Conduct assay operations on radioactive seeds, ensuring accurate results.
- Loading procedures (magazine, custom loaded needles, strands) require attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Counting and shipping operations demand meticulousness and a focus on quality.
- Sterilization procedures (steam and/or gamma) must be followed carefully to ensure the highest standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to company policies and regulations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, reporting any issues or concerns to your supervisor.
Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- One year of Manufacturing/Assembly experience is necessary.
- Small Part Assembly experience is preferred.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per annum
