Summary:
The Residential Care Supervisor is responsible for fostering and maintaining professional relationships with residential staff while providing on-the-job training. This role involves managing the staffing schedule for all residential employees and ensuring that updates are communicated in real-time, allowing staff to be informed of their shifts and colleagues beforehand.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and oversee the staffing schedule for all residential personnel.
2. Facilitate training for new employees on how to interpret the schedule.
3. Collaborate with the Residential Training Coordinator to assist in staff training for DRS employees.
4. Act as a positive role model by demonstrating desirable behaviors, patience, and effective communication.
5. Supervise and motivate staff, fostering an empowering and inspiring work environment.
6. Share relevant student information clearly with mentors, supervisors, and program coordinators.
7. Complete necessary documentation and evaluations related to student performance.
8. Attend weekly leadership meetings and adhere to progressive discipline protocols.
9. Ensure accurate timekeeping for staff and maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility.
10. Manage and approve PTO requests for supervised mentors.
11. Effectively problem-solve in high-pressure situations through calm leadership.
Accountability:
Supervisors are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the facilities and grounds, adhering to budgetary constraints for planned activities, and ensuring a structured environment for students.
Qualifications:
- Must pass background and motor vehicle checks.
- Valid Utah driver's license required.
- Basic math and computer skills are essential.
- Strong time management and communication skills are necessary.
- CPR/First Aid certification required within the first month of employment.
- Ability to perform duties in various weather conditions and physical demands, including lifting up to 60 lbs.
Work Environment:
This position involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings, often in a ranch-like environment with animals and varying weather conditions. The role requires physical activity, including walking, running, and manual labor.
