Park Ranger

Join the State of Connecticut team as a Park Ranger and contribute to the preservation and maintenance of our state's natural resources.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Park Ranger. As a Park Ranger, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to park visitors, enforcing park rules and regulations, and participating in various park maintenance and conservation activities.

• Provide general information to park visitors, including directions, park rules, and local attractions.
• Enforce park rules and regulations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
• Participate in park maintenance activities, including litter pickup, cleaning, and grounds maintenance.
• Assist with special events and programs, such as nature walks, educational programs, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other park staff to ensure the overall success of park operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum 18 years old; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
• Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and situations.

• Experience in customer service, park maintenance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of park rules and regulations, as well as local laws and regulations.
• Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including lawn mowers, chain saws, and other power tools.

Park Rangers work in a fast-paced environment, often in outdoor settings, and may be exposed to inclement weather conditions. Ability to work in a variety of settings, including parks, trails, and other outdoor areas.
