About the Role

As a Fire and Security Technician, you will be responsible for completing assigned programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of fire / security systems per contract obligations. You will work under direct supervision and assist experienced personnel with solutions to systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing required commissioning documentation and provide accurate information for as-builts documentation.
  • Adhere to safety standards and local and national codes, with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Maintain appropriate local and National Fire / Security Industry Certifications.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site, and engage in continuous proactive customer interactions.
  • Assist in monitoring project execution per plan and report problems or changes to supervisor or management.
  • Complete paperwork and on-site documentation as required.
  • Perform self-study to obtain technical proficiency on required products and application.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus one year experience in installing fire or security systems is required.
  • Electronics certification from accredited technical school / military electronics training desired.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to explain technical information to non-technical people.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Level I Certification.
  • Prior experience within the Fire/ Security industry with basic knowledge and understanding of Fire/ Security systems, database structure, network configuration and analysis.
