About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Learning Experience Designer to support the Global Procurement Organization at Amazon. This role will collaborate with subject matter experts to identify organizational learning needs and create activity-rich learning experiences using multi-modal approaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Articulate a clear description, benefits, and execution plan for managed capabilities, skills, and programs.
  • Manage multiple content development projects simultaneously.
  • Select the appropriate subject-matter-experts; collaborate with them to identify measurable pain points and articulate the learning objective.
  • Create project plans; use sprint methodology to prioritize and execute projects; monitor project progress.
  • Select the appropriate learning modality balancing frugality with high standards.
  • Create course outlines aligned to the problem; incorporate learner preferences, cognitive abilities, storytelling to enhance engagement and comprehension.
  • Develop prototypes and translate prototypes into learner-centered, performance-based, activity-rich learning assets.
  • Apply team standards that ensure alignment to the Amazon and GPO brand, accessibility, cultural relevancy, impact.
  • Deploy learning using effective communication strategies; prepares facilitators as needed.
  • Leverage science and data-driven approaches to design, deploy, and evaluate the effectiveness of learning assets and quickly revise assets to address feedback.
  • Manage, interpret, and analyze business data to report conclusions and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Produce written reports to communicate and gain support for solutions, measurement, and evaluation plans.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
  • Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • 7+ years relevant experience in an instructional design role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in instructional design, education technology, or similar field.
  • Experience developing and implementing department goals and strategies based on broader organization goals.
  • Expertise using eLearning development tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, and Captivate.
  • Experience designing and developing interactive training materials in multiple modalities including ILT, eLearning, video, and/or job aids.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in or supporting a procurement function like category or supplier management.
  • Experience managing projects of medium to high scope independently, while working cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven work experience designing and delivering training solutions to large organizations.
  • Experience developing and managing learning experience platforms.
  • Experience assessing curriculum effectiveness to develop solutions that positively impact learner performance.
  • Masters in instructional design, graphic design, education technology, or similar field or industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate (e.g. CPTD, CPT, PMP, etc.).
  • Advanced multimedia development in audio, video, and/or animation (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Experience with emerging tech trends for content creation (e.g. gamification, VR, xAPI).
  • Exceptional ability to earn trust of subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Executive level verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Innovative and proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to use judgment in complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with performance and talent management.
