Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Operator 4 to join our team at Southern States, LLC. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for planning and performing various fabrication operations using contact benders, vibrating equipment, punch presses, and other machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and tooling instructions to perform fabrication tasks.
  • Communicate with team leaders to determine the best method for completing assigned jobs.
  • Operate contact benders, vibrating equipment, punch presses, and other machinery to drill, bend, shear, punch, solder, and clean work pieces.
  • Assemble contacts by pressing rivets into parts and soldering with induction machines.
  • Make shunts using tape measures, foot shears, band saws, tin pots, and hammers.
  • Grind, file, and sand aluminum or steel parts to meet print specifications.
  • Clean weld spatter from welded assemblies and clean, polish, and buff silver brazed parts to print specifications.
  • Set contacts to print specifications using gauges and hand tools.
  • Sandblast parts using handheld hoses with foot pedals or hand levers to control the flow of sand.
  • Maintain equipment and working areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mathematical skills: ability to add and subtract whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to use simple mathematical devices, such as calculators, scales, measuring tapes, etc.
  • WorkKeys ACT Score (Applied Math – 3, Graphic Literacy – 4, Workplace Observation – 3).
