Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team at Comtech Telecommunications. As a Senior Quality Assurance Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and services, and for identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance our overall quality management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspection of raw materials, including printed circuit boards, electronic components, sheet metal modules, cables, and sub-assemblies, using drawing or assembly instructions.
  • Conduct routine visual inspections under low power microscopes (1.5 – 40X magnification) to identify solder defects and other quality issues, in accordance with workmanship standards (IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001).
  • Perform final quality control inspections on finished products, including mechanical, visual, workmanship, color, and RF testing, to ensure compliance with Bills of Materials, drawings, and specifications.
  • Define, measure, and evaluate each level of the process to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance quality.
  • Interface with production, mechanical engineering, and engineering departments to resolve problems related to printed circuit boards, modules, cables, and sub-assemblies.
  • Document and track discrepant products, and work with the Material Review Board (MRB) or Quality Management to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience using inspection tools, such as calipers, ohmmeter, micrometer, pin gages, multi-meter, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
