Job Summary

The University of Arkansas System is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality images for medical interpretation and assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Educate and prepare patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
  • Assist physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures
  • Analyze results and take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues
  • Educate patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation
  • Assist with monitoring patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
  • Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures on equipment
  • Troubleshoot, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary and keeps coworkers informed of status
Requirements
  • High School, GED or formal educational equivalent PLUS Graduate of a Radiological Technology program
  • New graduate or less than 1 year experience
  • Registry eligible or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License must be obtained prior to start date
  • IR Advanced Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist within 12 months from date of hire
