We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality images for medical interpretation.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping, and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites, and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Assist physicians with performing diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures.
- Analyze results and take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
- Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
- Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary and keep coworkers informed of status.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduate of a Radiological Technology program.
- New graduate or less than 1 year experience.
- Registry eligible or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License must be obtained prior to start date.
- IR Advanced Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 12 months from date of hire.
- Ability to follow oral instruction, read, and write.
