Job Title: VDC Specialist

Job Summary:

LVI Associates is seeking a skilled VDC Specialist to support the design and coordination of mechanical piping systems using Virtual Design and Construction technologies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with project teams, engineers, and field personnel to ensure efficient and accurate design and installation of piping systems in construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and coordinate 3D models of mechanical piping systems using VDC/BIM tools.
  • Interpret and review mechanical and piping drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Ensure the accuracy of models and drawings by conducting clash detection, resolving conflicts, and coordinating with other trades.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining detailed shop drawings, spool sheets, and material take-offs.
  • Support field teams during installation by providing updated models and addressing any design-related queries.
  • Conduct regular reviews of models for adherence to project specifications, standards, and client requirements.
  • Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing insights and updates on VDC progress.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry standards, VDC technologies, and trends in mechanical piping.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in VDC/BIM coordination, with a focus on mechanical piping systems.
  • Proficiency in VDC software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical piping systems, construction processes, and project workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a remote environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
