The Mount Saint Mary College Residence Life Office is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Residence Director to join our team. Key Responsibilities- Staff Development: Provide oversight of the orderly operation of an on-campus first-year residence hall housing approximately 150 residents.
- Disciplinary Conferences: Conduct disciplinary conferences and implement sanctions in accordance with the College's Code of Conduct.
- Staff Supervision: Train, supervise, and evaluate a team of Resident Assistants (RAs).
- Program Development: Assist RAs in creating programming and community development opportunities conducive to their students' academic and personal success.
- Communication: Facilitate weekly 1:1 meetings and RA team meetings.
- Availability: Be available, approachable, and accessible within the residence hall to residents and RA team.
- Incident Reporting: Participate in the RD on-call duty rotation as scheduled.
- Documentation: Document all incidents in a responsible and timely manner.
- Policies and Procedures: Maintain a working knowledge of and uphold all College and Housing policies and procedures.
- Emergency Response: Respond to all emergency situations while on duty, as required.
- Training and Development: Develop and facilitate RA training sessions during August and January RA Training.
- Program Evaluation: Oversee and evaluate residence hall programs, activities, and events.
- Communication and Collaboration: Attend and actively participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with supervisor and Residence Life Office team meetings.
- Student Affairs: Actively participate in Student Affairs Department events, meetings, assignments, etc. as required.
- Health and Safety: Conduct thorough monthly health/safety inspections and closing/opening inspections of building(s).
- Liaison: Act as liaison between the Residence Life Office and other college offices as needed.
- Availability: Maintain daily in-area office hours.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Previous full-time experience in Residence Life/Student Affairs is required.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills.
This is a full-time, twelve-month position. Compensation includes a competitive salary, a furnished apartment with utilities, cable, and a meal plan (when school is in session). Comprehensive health insurance plan, 403(b) retirement package, and tuition waiver after one year of continuous employment.
