General Maintenance Mechanic

Are you a skilled maintenance professional looking for a challenging opportunity to make a difference? International Paper is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our Savannah Mill location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on heavy industrial equipment, including pumps, valves, and mechanical drives
  • Repair and replace worn or damaged parts, including gaskets, seals, and bearings
  • Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of piping systems
  • Participate in the HEAT team, our in-house emergency response team

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in a related field or registered apprenticeship preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in heavy industrial maintenance
  • Knowledge of mechanical drives, pumps, seals, lubrication, and hydraulics
  • Welding experience (stick, MIG, TIG) and machine shop skills (lathes, boring, balancing, CNC)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in the pulp and paper industry
