Opportunity: Student Transport Operator

Barr Transportation, LLC is on the lookout for committed individuals to become part of our team as Student Transport Operators. No previous experience in operating a school bus is required—we offer comprehensive training and support to ensure your success.

Primary Duties:

  • Safely convey students to and from educational institutions, extracurricular activities, and special occasions, while complying with all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle to guarantee its safety and dependability. Promptly report any mechanical concerns to our maintenance personnel.
  • Efficiently manage your designated route, adhering to scheduled times and informing supervisors of any alterations or delays.
  • Effectively oversee student conduct on the bus, ensuring a secure and orderly environment during transit.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Candidates must possess or be willing to acquire the necessary licenses and certifications to operate a school bus in Maryland (assistance with the licensing process is available).
  • Must fulfill physical and medical criteria and successfully pass a drug screening. As this is a safety-sensitive role, random drug tests may be conducted in line with company policy.
  • Must successfully complete a thorough background check, as the position involves transporting students.
