Job Summary

This position provides complex analysis and recommendations to management, employees, and exclusive representatives on University policies and Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analysis and Reporting: Independently performs data extraction, research, and analysis of information relating to union requests, department metrics, diversity, bargaining, corrective action, and layoff processes.
  • Labor Relations Complaint Management: Responds to requests for information, advises on the rights and responsibilities of employee organizations and their representatives, and advises on dues/fair share fee deductions.
  • Contract Administration and Analysis: Independently drafts notice to employee organizations and facilitates meetings on those obligations.
  • Relations with Employee Unions: Works with union-related confidential materials, advises management on collective bargaining activities related to confidential management bargaining strategies, and disseminates communication regarding bargaining activities.
  • Training and Communication: Provides advice on compensation notice actions, meets with union representatives, and advises on legislative and bargaining updates.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in labor law, preparing formal responses to labor unions, and consulting with precedent and administrative procedures to inform response.
  • Skills: Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
