Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

At Sterling Health Solutions Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team.

Job Summary:

The LPN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting with medical examinations, and performing various clinical tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare patients for medical examinations, including vital sign measurements and recording information in the Electronic Health Record.
  2. Assist medical care providers during examinations and procedures.
  3. Collect and prepare lab samples for analysis.
  4. Post and oversee lab charges, and complete lab requisitions.
  5. Perform quality controls on lab equipment.
  6. Prepare and maintain equipment and rooms for patient visits.
  7. Triage patients and respond to inquiries.
  8. Monitor lab and patient care supplies, and request purchases as needed.
  9. Maintain OSHA standards in lab and patient care areas.
  10. Maintain records of outside testing and ensure results are returned.
  11. Implement provider orders, including notifying patients of test results.
  12. Educate patients and families about their condition, medication, and self-care skills.
  13. Screen for and perform refill requests per provider instructions.
  14. Obtain preauthorization for surgeries, procedures, and medicines.
  15. Assist co-workers with answering the phone, registering patients, and billing.
  16. Handle patient complaints appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Be courteous and respectful to patients and co-workers.
  • Ability to work effectively with providers, staff, and third-party payors.
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and coordinate work activities.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to use good judgment to accomplish goals.

Credentials and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing and Active Unrestricted Kentucky License.

Work Environment:

The LPN will work in a fast-paced clinic environment, requiring frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and other conditions common to a clinic setting.
