Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team at Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Specialty departments in various duties, including managing clients and pets, partnering with DVMs in patient assessment and treatment, and maintaining organized patient records.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting each of our Specialty departments in various duties, including managing clients and pets throughout their visit
  • Partnering with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Obtaining and processing laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
  • Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
  • Executing, monitoring, and recovering sedation and anesthetic events
  • Maintaining organized patient records and ensuring compliance with hospital policies
  • Collaborating with other veterinary technicians, veterinarians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care
  • Providing clear and concise communication regarding patient status and any concerns to the veterinary team

Requirements:

  • Active license in the state of CA, RVT
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the veterinary field with anesthesia experience a must
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must
  • Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs
  • Proficiency in record keeping related to medical procedures, including daily treatments administered, patient status, procedures completed, supplies used, and anesthetic records
  • Review and understanding of all medical records pertinent to patient care
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring is required
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and a commitment to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required
  • Maintain a positive outlook and ability to work well in stressful situations
  • The ability to deliver exceptional client service is a priority
