Job Summary

As a School Nutrition Specialist with Dinwiddie County Public Schools, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving meals to students in accordance with weekly menus. This position requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with weekly menus
  • Operate register, Point of Sale (POS); take money and make change; count and record amounts taken in
  • Wash dishes, trays and food preparation equipment; clean work surfaces, eating and food preparation area
  • Operate dishwasher, mixer, chopper, slicer, steamers, ovens and other food service and mechanical equipment
  • Sweep and mop and perform other clean-up duties as assigned
  • Receive and stock food supplies
  • Maintain sanitary conditions; remove trash
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimal experience in food preparation services, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work long hours while standing and under high temperature conditions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and associates
Work Environment

This position requires working in a moderately noisy location, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts. The work environment is generally clean and well-maintained, with a focus on maintaining sanitary conditions.
