Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Glasgow. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and enforcing laws and ordinances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot and in vehicles to prevent and detect crime.
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed.
  • Investigate crimes and gather evidence to support prosecutions.
  • Make arrests and issue citations as necessary.
  • Provide support and assistance to the community, including mediating disputes and providing information and resources.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to achieve public safety goals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of law enforcement training program required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and physical agility test required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Previous law enforcement experience.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
