Key Responsibilities- Patrol Duties: Conduct both mobile and foot patrols across the campus during assigned shifts. Perform thorough security inspections of university facilities to ensure their safety and integrity. Respond promptly and professionally to requests for assistance and emergencies, providing First Responder support as needed. (25%)
- Policy Enforcement: Uphold university rules, regulations, and applicable laws to maintain a safe and orderly academic environment. (15%)
- Incident Reporting: Prepare detailed written reports on incidents as required. (10%)
- Public Safety Services: Provide law enforcement and emergency services as directed, including security coverage for university events. (10%)
- Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the community to enhance public safety collaboration. (10%)
- Observation and Reporting: Monitor and report any criminal activities or safety concerns within the community. (10%)
- Traffic Management: Direct traffic and enforce parking regulations as necessary. (10%)
- Assist in training new officers. (4%)
- Serve as a driver for the university's evening transport service when needed. (4%)
- Perform other security-related tasks as assigned. (2%)
Daily interactions with central dispatch, patrol officers, faculty, staff, students, and the general public are essential to this role.
QualificationsExperience: A minimum of 2 years in security or a related field is required. Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive background check, including a criminal history review, psychological screening, and a physical agility assessment.
Education: High school diploma is mandatory. A State of Ohio Security Officer Certification or current enrollment in a law enforcement academy is preferred, along with a two-year degree in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice. A valid Ohio driver's license with a clean record is also required.

This role involves exposure to various environmental conditions, requiring physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds. The position may also involve hazardous situations.
