Virginia Tech is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Continuing and Professional Education department, you will play a critical role in promoting our objectives and providing a quality experience for program participants.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and implement conferences, short courses, training programs, institutes, workshops, and other unique outreach offerings
- Develop and implement financial management and accountability plans
- Coordinate with vendors and ensure timely delivery of services
- Manage post-program financials and ensure compliance with established timelines
- Provide local and out-of-town program support, including occasional travel and overnight stays
- Experience in a continuing education setting, hospitality environment, or program management environment with a focus on event planning
- Strong technical skills, including word processing, Excel, email, and internet navigation
- Ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously while prioritizing according to need and schedule
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to maintain thorough and accurate program files
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong team player mentality
- Experience with university and/or state purchasing policies and procedures
- Conference management/planning experience
- Experience working within program budget constraints
