Position Overview

The Bartender plays a crucial role in ensuring that guests enjoy a memorable experience at our hotel by achieving performance goals related to the evening social settings. This position involves setting up, serving, and dismantling bar areas while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and service. The Bartender also engages with guests, enhancing their overall experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify Sonesta Service in all guest interactions, adhering to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
  • Prepare and transport food and beverage items along with necessary supplies to and from bar areas.
  • Monitor the bar area to ensure sufficient supplies of food, beverages, and service items are available for guests; restock as needed.
  • Adhere to preparation methods and quality standards, ensuring taste, appearance, and presentation meet expectations.
  • Proactively greet guests and address their requests in a timely and professional manner, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Follow procedures to secure and properly store food and beverage products, minimizing waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work and bar areas, including all equipment and service areas.
  • Check equipment functionality and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms, ensuring food and beverage service is maintained during events.
  • Comply with health, sanitation, and cleanliness standards as required by local regulations and hotel policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in food and beverage service is preferred.
  • Experience in the extended stay industry is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics are preferred.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move throughout the facility.
  • Capability to lift or carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning chemicals is necessary.
  • ServSafe certification is required.
  • TIPS certification may be required.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits

Pay Rate: $20.61 per hour. The base pay offered may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge and experience.
